Abstract
The Pharmacy Information System is a PHP–MySQL based web application developed to streamline the management of pharmacy operations and ensure accurate, efficient handling of medicines and customer records. This system allows administrators to manage medicine inventory, suppliers, billing, and prescriptions while enabling customers to browse and purchase medicines online (if required). By automating pharmacy workflows, the system minimizes manual errors, enhances service quality, and improves customer satisfaction.

Existing System
Currently, most pharmacies use manual or semi-automated processes to maintain records of medicines, suppliers, and customer purchases. Inventory tracking is often handled through ledgers or spreadsheets, leading to stock mismatches and delayed reordering. Customers typically visit the pharmacy physically to purchase medicines or inquire about availability. Manual billing and data entry are prone to human errors, and there is no centralized platform for storing customer and prescription information.

Proposed System

The proposed Pharmacy Information System automates all pharmacy operations using PHP and MySQL. Administrators can add and manage medicine details, including batch numbers, expiry dates, stock quantities, and prices. The system also manages suppliers, purchase orders, and sales transactions. Customers can submit prescriptions (if applicable), order medicines online, and pay securely. The system automatically updates inventory after each transaction and generates reports on stock levels, sales trends, and supplier performance. By offering a centralized, secure, and user-friendly platform, the system reduces manual effort, increases accuracy, and enhances transparency for both pharmacists and customers.
