Zero Hunger Food Zero Waste in PHP Application Projects
Abstract
The Zero Hunger: Food Zero Waste System is a PHP–MySQL based web application designed to reduce food wastage and distribute surplus food to those in need. The system connects restaurants, hotels, households, and NGOs to ensure excess food is collected and delivered efficiently to people facing hunger. By automating donation tracking, request management, and logistics, the system helps promote food sustainability, social responsibility, and community welfare.
Existing System
Currently, food donation and redistribution are largely manual. Restaurants, hotels, and households may donate surplus food, but tracking donations, identifying needy recipients, and coordinating logistics is done informally. NGOs and volunteers rely on phone calls, emails, or personal networks, leading to delays, miscommunication, and wasted food. Lack of centralized tracking reduces the efficiency and reach of food donation programs.
Proposed System
The proposed Zero Hunger: Food Zero Waste System in PHP automates food donation and distribution. Donors can register surplus food, specify quantity, and schedule pickups. NGOs or volunteers can view available donations, confirm collection, and manage distribution to recipients. The system tracks donation history, generates reports, and provides notifications for pending pickups or urgent needs. By centralizing and digitizing the process, the system ensures timely delivery, reduces food wastage, and helps feed those in need efficiently.
