Police Complaint in PHP Application Projects
Abstract
The Police Complaint System is a PHP–MySQL based web application designed to allow citizens to lodge complaints with the police online in a secure and structured manner. This system enables users to submit complaints, track the status of their cases, and communicate with concerned authorities digitally. Administrators (police staff) can review complaints, assign cases to officers, update progress, and generate reports. By digitizing the complaint process, the system enhances accessibility, reduces paperwork, and improves transparency between the public and law enforcement agencies.
Existing System
Currently, citizens must visit police stations physically to file complaints. This process can be time-consuming, intimidating, and prone to delays. Paper-based complaint registration leads to inefficiencies, loss of records, and lack of transparency for the complainant. Tracking complaint progress is also difficult, as there is no centralized system for updates or notifications. Administrators (police staff) must manually assign cases and maintain logs, which slows down resolution.
Proposed System
The proposed Police Complaint System automates the complaint registration and tracking process using PHP and MySQL. Citizens can register, log in, and submit complaints online with necessary details and attachments (such as images or documents). Administrators or police staff can review, approve, or escalate complaints, assign them to appropriate officers, and update their status regularly. Users receive notifications and can track the progress of their complaints in real time. The system also allows police staff to generate reports for analysis and resource allocation. By providing a secure, centralized, and user-friendly platform, the system strengthens transparency, improves efficiency, and enhances trust between citizens and law enforcement agencies.
